Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili on Monday responded to French President Emmanuel Macron’s comments addressing the United States.
His remarks came after Macron said that “it is not up to the United States to decide what laws Europeans and the French should have”.
“It is not up to the US to decide what laws we, Europeans and the French, will have”, said the President of France, after criticising Clause 4 of Article 3 of Georgia’s Law on Transparency. When you preach equality to other nations but treat them as secondary in practice, you always risk being treated the exact same way”, Papuashvili said.
