Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Wednesday reaffirmed Georgia's commitment to strengthening ties with the United States, calling for a renewed strategic partnership based on mutual respect, fairness, and a clear roadmap for cooperation during a reception marking the 250th anniversary of US Independence.

“It is an honor to join this evening as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Independence of the United States of America. On behalf of the Government and the people of Georgia, I extend our warmest congratulations to the American people on this remarkable occasion.

Independence Day is far more than a national celebration. It is a tribute to enduring ideals of liberty, sovereignty, and self-determination. These ideals resonate deeply with Georgia's own experience and aspirations.

The principles enshrined in the American founding have shaped far more than a constitutional system. They have fostered a society that has become a global leader in innovation, science, education, entrepreneurship, and culture. Guided by the enduring conviction expressed in the Declaration of Independence - that all people “are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights” - the United States has built institutions that have encouraged creativity, rewarded initiative, and inspired generations far beyond its borders.

From groundbreaking scientific discoveries and technological innovation to literature, cinema, and the arts, America's contributions have left an enduring mark on the modern world. This unique combination of philosophical vision of the Founding Fathers, strong institutions, and cultural vitality has enabled the United States to emerge as one of the world's foremost powers and a leading force for progress and innovation.

For decades, Georgia has been acting as the loyal, reliable and responsible partner to the United States. Georgia has engaged consistently with the United States on regional security matters. When the United States required cooperation on strategic priorities, Georgia in its capacity as a loyal partner responded with steadfast commitment.

Recent developments indicate that the South Caucasus is gaining growing strategic importance in, both, regional and global contexts. This reflects a combination of geographic, economic, and geopolitical factors. As the South Caucasus assumes greater strategic importance, Georgia’s role becomes critical.

At a time of profound geopolitical change, Georgia believes that strengthening and formalizing our partnership serves the mutual interests of both nations. Despite the challenges that have emerged in recent years, we remain convinced that the time has come to reboot our strategic partnership through a roadmap that sets out shared priorities, practical mechanisms for cooperation, and clearly defined strategic objectives.

Georgia proposes a strategic partnership based on mutual respect, fairness, and a clear framework for cooperation. We stand ready to engage in direct dialogue to define shared priorities, establish practical mechanisms for implementation, and deliver measurable results for both nations. Our ongoing engagements have built solid momentum, reinforcing our optimism for a deeply constructive and forward-looking partnership.

With that spirit of partnership in mind, let me extend my congratulations to the American People. May the friendship between our nations continue to flourish, and may the partnership between Georgia and the United States grow stronger in the years ahead!

Happy Independence Day, and thank you!” Kobakhidze said.
