Georgian FM: Georgia to raise key national and regional issues at UN General Assembly

Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili said on Monday that the Georgian delegation would have an opportunity to discuss issues of importance to both the country and the wider South Caucasus region at the highest level on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
Speaking about Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze’s visit to the United States, Botchorishvili noted that he was scheduled to participate in a European Union-organised event dedicated to multilateralism.
“Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has begun his visit to New York. Bilateral meetings with counterparts are scheduled for today on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. We will have the opportunity to discuss issues of importance to Georgia and the region at the highest level”, the Foreign Minister said.
“The Prime Minister is also scheduled to participate today in an EU-organised event dedicated to multilateralism, where he will take part in the discussion”, she added.
Kobakhidze arrived in the United States with a government delegation to participate in the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
As part of the high-level session, the Prime Minister is scheduled to address the General Debate on September 24, presenting Georgia’s positions and priorities to representatives of UN member states.
