Georgia’s UN Ambassador: PM Kobakhidze to focus on peace, security, economic development in UN address

David Bakradze, Georgia’s Ambassador to the United Nations, said on Wednesday that Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze would focus on peace and security, sustainable economic development, the rule of law and human rights in his address to the UN General Debate.
Bakradze made the remarks ahead of Kobakhidze’s scheduled address to the General Debate of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
“The United Nations’ main values are peace and security, sustainable economic development, the rule of law and human rights. In these areas, Georgia holds a leading position globally, based on the achievements we have made in recent years”, he said.
“These will be the key areas that the Prime Minister will focus on in his speech tomorrow. A bilateral meeting with the UN Secretary General will also be held, where developments in the region and Georgia’s important role in these processes will also be discussed”, Bakradze concluded.
