Bidzina Ivanishvili, the founder and Honorary Chair of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Friday met with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates, as part of the UAE leader’s official visit to Georgia.

The meeting was also attended by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, Minister of Economy Mariam Kvrivishvili, Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili, and Head of the Government Administration Levan Zhorzholiani.

Discussions focused on deepening political and economic ties, major investment projects, and cooperation in education and technology.

In his remarks, Ivanishvili thanked Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for visiting Georgia and underlined the significance of the growing partnership between the two countries.

“I am pleased that you are in Georgia, and it is an honour to host you in our country. Over the past years, relations between our countries have deepened further, for which I would like to express my gratitude. It is welcome that the economic ties between Georgia and the United Arab Emirates are becoming even stronger, which will be beneficial for both countries in the future. The investments you are making in Georgia will bring our countries even closer. I thank you for your warm and friendly attitude toward our country. I hope we will meet many more times and that our partnership will deepen further in the future”, Ivanishvili said.

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in turn, expressed satisfaction with the visit and stressed that UAE–Georgia relations will continue to expand.

“I am delighted to be in your beautiful country and to have the honour of meeting you in person. As you know, we are implementing a USD 6 billion investment in Georgia, which will commence in the coming days. I also express my readiness to fund the education of Georgian students in the United Arab Emirates and to assist your youth in deepening their knowledge in the field of artificial intelligence”, Sheikh Mohamed said.

“The friendly relations between our countries are important and beneficial for both sides, so I express my readiness to invest even more in Georgia, which is fascinating to me personally as the president of the country. Once again, I would like to thank you for your warm hospitality”, he concluded.
