Georgian Parliament official accuses German Ambassador of “lying” about compliance with Vienna Convention

Gia Volski, an MP from the ruling Georgian Dream party and the First Vice Speaker of the Parliament, on Wednesday accused German Ambassador Peter Fischer of “lying” about acting in accordance with the Vienna Convention, claiming that the consequences of his actions suggest otherwise.
Volski made the remarks in response to Fischer’s statement that he has not violated the Convention and has not interfered in Georgia’s internal affairs.
“This individual or group of individuals is lying when they say they are acting according to the Vienna Convention. If we judge by the results, what we see is fire in the streets, Molotov cocktails, and substantial funding that ends up in the hands of people who commit wrongdoing and crimes - some through NGOs and some through direct financing”, Volski said.
