Georgian Prime Minister highlights strong Georgia-Armenia partnership

Georgian prime minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Wednesday said diverse formats of cooperation established between Georgia and Armenia have had a positive impact on the development of bilateral partnership.
Speaking at the session of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, co-chaired by the prime ministers of Georgia and Armenia, Kobakhidze emphasised the steady growth of economic ties between the two countries.
“With regard to the number of visitors from Armenia to Georgia, Armenia is among the top three in this respect. Beyond trade and economic relations, we are connected by very close cooperation in such areas as education, culture, people-to-people relations, and strategic directions. On this backdrop, there is significant potential to further deepen cooperation across all fields”, he said.
The PM also underlined the importance of maintaining stability in the region and welcomed recent positive developments.
“We are pleased with the trends that have developed in our region in recent times. The peace agreement signed between your country and Azerbaijan was of great importance. All of this provides a solid foundation to further strengthen and develop our region. Mr. Prime Minister, I would like to thank you for your personal contribution to the development of our relations. We highly appreciate it”, Kobakhidze concluded.
