Georgia sees significant progress in international rankings, says Head of Government Administration

Levan Zhorzholiani, the head of the Georgian government administration, on Friday highlighted the country’s upward trajectory in global rankings.

In his remarks, Zhorzholiani emphasised that the improvements reflect systemic policy decisions made by the government in previous years, which are now being reflected in global assessments.

“From the perspective of international rankings, 2025 was a successful year. Numerous independent research organisations evaluate countries through indicators such as economic freedom, freedom from corruption, human rights, and the rule of law. In all of these areas, we are seeing serious progress. This is the result of systemic decisions taken by the government in previous years, and it is now reflected in these rankings”, the official said.

He further added that international rankings serve as a guide for investors, helping them assess the “rules of the game” in a country, including economic stability and the effectiveness of bureaucracy - factors that are crucial for attracting foreign direct investment.

“Rankings are a kind of guide for investors regarding the rules of the game in the country - whether there is economic stability and how the bureaucracy functions. This is vital for attracting foreign direct investment”, he continued.

He also highlighted notable improvements in the area of corruption perception, stating that reforms implemented in this field have been reflected in several studies and contributed to Georgia’s positioning among countries where bureaucracy operates with integrity.
