In a congratulatory letter, Aliyev emphasised the high level of strategic partnership between the two countries.
“I sincerely congratulate you and the entire Georgian people on Independence Day - May 26 - and extend my best wishes on behalf of myself and the Azerbaijani people”, he said in a letter.
“We are very pleased with the dynamic development and achievements of our friendly country and strategic partner, Georgia. Relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia are based on traditions of friendship, brotherhood, and good neighborliness that have been formed between our peoples over centuries. Today, our interstate relations and strategic partnership are characterized by high-level political dialogue, regular bilateral visits, and mutually beneficial cooperation, which continues to gain new substance”, Aliyev continued.
The Azerbaijani President further highlighted the importance of further deepening the strategic partnership.
“I fondly recall the state visit to your wonderful country in April. Currently, favorable conditions have been created to enrich the agenda of our bilateral relations with new content and to increase the economic potential of our region”, he said.
“I am confident that through joint efforts and by utilizing the existing opportunities for the benefit of our peoples and the region, we will be able to further expand effective bilateral cooperation between our countries in areas of mutual interest. I wish you health, happiness, and success in your work, and I wish the friendly and brotherly Georgian people lasting peace and prosperity”, Azerbaijani President concluded.
