On the 35th anniversary of the restoration of Georgia’s state independence, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze declared that every patriotic Georgian can be proud of the country’s unprecedented level of independence and sovereignty.

The Prime Minister made these remarks during his speech at the official ceremony celebrating Georgia’s Independence Day.

According to the head of Government, it is precisely this strengthening of independence and sovereignty that has allowed the country, despite facing immense challenges, to firmly protect its faith, maintain peace, and embark on a continuous path of progress and development.

“35 years have passed since Georgia restored its state independence. Since then, we have been walking Moses’ 40-year path. Today, 35 years after the restoration of independence, every patriotic Georgian can take pride in the fact that Georgia is more independent and sovereign than ever”, the PM said.

He further emphasised that this resilience would ultimately lead the nation to its ultimate goals.

“It is the reinforcement of our independence and sovereignty that has enabled our country, despite the most difficult challenges, to steadfastly protect our faith, maintain peace, and pursue an uninterrupted path of progress and development. This path will surely lead us to the Promised Land - the achievement of all our national goals, a unified and radiant Georgia”, he stressed.

“Once again, I congratulate you on the Day of Georgia’s State Independence. I congratulate you on the 1700th anniversary of the declaration of Christianity as the state religion. Long live independent, strong, and united Georgia! May God bless our Mother Church and our homeland”, the Prime Minister concluded.
