Georgian, Azerbaijani Presidents discuss strategic partnership

High level of strategic partnership between Georgia and Azerbaijan and successful cooperation across various sectors were discussed on Monday in a meeting between Georgian president Mikheil Kavelashvili and his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev.
Kavelashvili noted that maintaining the strong strategic partnership between Georgia and Azerbaijan at a high level and further developing it in a multifaceted manner remains a priority for Georgia.
The leaders also emphasised that, on the backdrop of ongoing geopolitical processes and a fundamentally changing international order, maintaining stability and peace in the region is becoming increasingly important.
Georgian president thanked Aliyev for supporting Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
Kavelashvili also extended his gratitude to Aliyev for visiting the embassy of Georgia in Baku and offering sincere condolences on the passing of His Holiness Ilia II, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia.
