Georgian Economy Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili on Wednesday said the Green Energy Corridor creates a strong foundation for deeper regional cooperation, greater connectivity and more resilient energy systems.
In her speech at the 12th Ministerial Meeting held under the Strategic Partnership Agreement on the Development and Transmission of Green Energy, Kvriivishvili said the Georgian Government aimed to significantly increase domestic renewable electricity generation, strengthen the country's energy security and create additional opportunities to supply clean electricity to regional energy markets.
“We firmly believe that the Green Energy Corridor creates a solid foundation for deeper regional cooperation, greater connectivity and enhanced resilience of our energy systems. It also reflects our shared commitment to building a more sustainable and secure energy future”, she said.
“Georgia remains committed to continuing close cooperation with all partner countries and stakeholders to advance this important initiative and fully implement the commitments undertaken under our quadrilateral agreement”, Kvriivishvili concluded.
