IndiGo Airline increases New Delhi-Tbilisi flights to daily service

IndiGo Airline, Asia's largest low-cost carrier, on Saturday announced an increase in the frequency of its direct flights between New Delhi and Tbilisi.
The airline will now operate daily flights on the New Delhi-Tbilisi-New Delhi route.
Mariam Kvrivishvili, the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, highlighted the importance of market diversification and the active efforts of Georgia's private tourism sector in attracting Indian tourists.
“Diversification of markets is our priority. We are constantly looking to have more direct flights and increase frequencies to attract more tourists to the country. India is one of the new and fascinating destinations where the private tourism sector of Georgia is actively working. They are interested in getting more tourists from India. Considering the activity of the private sector as well as the dynamics of the growth of tourist flows from India, we have negotiated with the Indian airline to increase the frequencies. As a result, instead of the existing three flights, the flight from New Delhi to Tbilisi will be performed daily. This decision is a demonstration of the growing interest in Georgia and its tourism opportunities in the international tourist market. Tourists coming from India are distinguished by their high purchasing power, the direction of business tourism is especially interesting”, Kvrivishvili said.
IndiGo is the largest airline in Asia by passenger numbers and fleet size as of 2023. The airline operates over 600 destinations, underscoring its significant role in regional and international air travel.
