Georgian Economy Minister: Government committed to advancing regional stability, development

Mariam Kvrivishvili, the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, on Wednesday said the Georgian Government was committed to advancing regional stability and development, supported by its strong economic performance and growing investor confidence.
In her address during a panel discussion at the ongoing Tbilisi Silk Road Forum, Kvrivishvili highlighted Georgia’s robust economic growth and the Government’s determination to maintain its role as a leading reformer and economic hub in the region.
“Georgia has a strong desire to contribute to regional stability and development. We have achieved a 9.6 percent economic growth rate compared to the same period last year, which signifies progress and positions Georgia as a leader in the region. Both the governmental and business sectors play a role in this process. I want to emphasise that Georgia is consistently among the most hospitable countries, which facilitates attracting investors”, she said.
The Economy Minister particularly underlined the significance of the multi-billion-dollar projects initiated by Mohamed Ali Rashed Alabbar, Founder of EMAAR and Eagle Hills, which were set to transform Georgia’s investment landscape.
“I had an excellent dialogue with Mr. Alabbar, who is a very good friend of ours. As a result of this relationship, Georgia has received investments exceeding USD 6 billion. The Eagle Hills project is a tremendous opportunity for our country”, Kvrivishvili noted.
She also discussed the broader importance of sustainable economic policies that make Georgia one of the most business-friendly destinations globally.
Kvrivishvili emphasised that every investment - whether domestic or international - plays a vital role in strengthening economic resilience and contributing to national stability.
“Our economy is growing quite rapidly, and we use such occasions to showcase our achievements. It is a great privilege for us to host over 2,000 delegates from numerous countries. This is a platform for dialogue between governments and businesses. Today has been quite fruitful. We discussed many issues, including topics that concern the private sector”, she concluded.
