Georgian PM, BSEC Secretary General discuss future cooperation

Priorities for future cooperation were discussed on Thursday in a meeting between Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and Lazăr Comănescu, the Secretary General of Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation.
The parties emphasised Georgia’s important role in the Organization’s activities as a founding member of BSEC and as its chair.
Kobakhidze reviewed the growing importance of the Middle Corridor, the development of Georgia’s transit function, and the major infrastructure projects being implemented by the Government in this direction - the East-West Highway, the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, and the Anaklia Deep Sea Port project.
The Prime Minister noted that the Black Sea was playing a crucial role in the development of Georgia’s transit capabilities.
