The Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković on Monday congratulated the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on the country’s Independence Day.

In his congratulatory letter, Plenković highlighted that relations between the two countries had recently become more “intense” and had voiced his support for Georgia's European aspirations.

“I sincerely congratulate you and the friendly Georgian people on the Independence Day of Georgia. I am happy to note that recently our relations have become intense, the number of high-level visits has increased, the Georgian Embassy was opened in Zagreb, and the consulate in Pula. I am sure that our bilateral cooperation will further strengthen, especially in economy, trade, tourism and culture”, Plenković told Kobakhidze.

“I use this opportunity to confirm the support of Croatia for the European aspirations of Georgia. Count on our help in this process. Recently, Georgia has made progress on the path to joining the European Union, and I hope that this trajectory will continue in the future. Mr. Prime Minister, we express our greatest respect to you”, he concluded.
