Enthronement of Patriarch Shio III underway at Svetitskhoveli Cathedral

A solemn enthronement ceremony of the newly elected Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Shio III is currently underway at Svetitskhoveli Cathedral.
The ceremonial liturgy began at 10:00 a.m., during which the enthronement of His Holiness and Beatitude Shio III - Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Archbishop of Mtskheta-Tbilisi, and Metropolitan of Bichvinta and Tskhum-Abkhazia - is taking place.
The ceremony is attended by senior representatives of the Georgian government and political leadership, including Bidzina Ivanishvili, the honorary chair of the Georgian Dream party; prime minister Irakli Kobakhidze; state minister Mamuka Mdinaradze; president Mikheil Kavelashvili; Parliament speaker Shalva Papuashvili; and Tbilisi mayor Kakha Kaladze, alongside other members of the government.
