Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Monday said nowadays there were no “active” talks from NATO about enlargement.
In his remarks, Kobakhidze claimed NATO did not have the task of enlargement today, based on the situation that had been created in the region.
“NATO itself today does not have the task of enlargement, based on the situation in the region. NATO cannot actively talk about enlargement from the point of view of Ukraine, from the point of view of Georgia. When the situation in the region changes, when the situation calms down, the general conditions there may also change, but today there is no active talk on the part of NATO about enlargement, which has specific reasons”, Kobakhidze said.
