Georgian police seize especially large quantity of drugs in Adjara, foreign citizen arrested

Employees of the Adjara Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on Sunday arrested a foreign citizen on charges of illegal purchase and possession of an especially large quantity of narcotic drugs and facilitating their sale.
During a search of the suspect and his residential apartment in Batumi, officers seized an especially large quantity of drugs, including 50 packages of methadone prepared for sale, along with packaging materials.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs said the investigation is being carried out on drug-related charges under the Criminal Code of Georgia.
The charges are punishable by up to 20 years in prison or life imprisonment under Georgian law.
