Chinese Ambassador: China-Georgia relations at historic high with strong investment potential

Zhou Qian, the Chinese Ambassador to Georgia, on Tuesday China-Georgia relations were at their best historically, with a solid foundation and great potential for investment cooperation.
In an exclusive interview with Business Insider Georgia, Zhou focused on the existing economic cooperation between the two countries, its potential, and future perspectives.
“Chinese companies have made investments and built industrial parks and hydropower plants in Georgia, acquired Basisbank, and developed cooperation in e-commerce, trade logistics, manufacturing, and energy. The implementation of these cooperative projects and contacts between enterprises on both sides will contribute to mutual benefits”, he said.
The Ambassador also noted that Georgia’s favourable business environment had attracted the attention of more Chinese enterprises.
“We support Chinese companies in making investments in Georgia in accordance with market principles and continuously strengthening cooperation in industrial and supply chains. We believe that even more Chinese investment projects will be implemented in Georgia in the future”, he concluded.
