Georgia’s ruling party official: Georgia and US have absolute ideological alignment, raising hopes for real partnership

Levan Machavariani, the First Deputy Chair of the ruling Georgian Dream party faction in the Parliament, on Wednesday said there was complete ideological alignment between Georgia and the United States administration, expressing optimism that this will lead to a genuine partnership.
In his interview with Imedi TV, Machavariani said the positions held by the Georgian Dream party regarding European bureaucrats were reflected in the US National Security Strategy.
He added that the two sides also share the same views on the war in Ukraine, foreign interference, and other key issues.
“I would once again emphasise the complete alignment between us and the United States on ideological issues, including our assessments of European bureaucrats. That is why we have positive expectations that a genuine partnership will begin”, he said.
“Accordingly, there is full alignment, and that is why we have positive expectations that a genuine partnership will begin. First and foremost, I would highlight our shared values. Anyone who wants peace and does not want war is someone with whom we seek close cooperation. We would like to see every governing party and government in every country embrace the belief that there is no alternative to peace”, Machavariani concluded.
