Turkmen President: Georgia stands as key economic partner for Turkmenistan, and we place great value on importance of our bilateral relations

Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Friday highlighted Georgia’s role as Turkmenistan’s primary economic partner. During a briefing alongside Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, the President characterised their meeting as productive and emphasised a mutual desire to strengthen ties and bring the partnership between the two nations to a new level.
“We held a friendly and constructive meeting, during which we reaffirmed our shared commitment to the continued cooperation between Turkmenistan and Georgia. We have agreed to expand our political dialogue and diplomatic collaboration to ensure that our bilateral relations remain strong and enduring in the long term”, the President said.
“Georgia stands as a key economic partner for Turkmenistan, and we place great value on the importance of our bilateral relations. Turkmenistan deeply appreciates Georgia’s constructive position on the international stage and recognizes the country’s significant contributions to positive development. I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to the Prime Minister for his cooperation. Furthermore, we are pleased to see the ongoing expansion of our collaborative mechanisms within international organizations, particularly the United Nations”, he continued.
Furthermore, President Berdimuhamedov expressed a strong desire to continue diversifying the economic ties between Georgia and Turkmenistan, ensuring a broader and more resilient partnership.
“During our meeting, we placed special emphasis on elevating our bilateral relations to a qualitatively new level. This was further highlighted during the Turkmenistan-Georgia Business Forum held as part of the visit, where we discussed concrete opportunities, such as the exchange of manufactured goods, to increase our trade volume. We view this as a promising new area of cooperation and attach great importance to strengthening our business ties and further diversifying our economic partnership”, he concluded.
