Georgian Vice PM: some were not angered by occupation of their own homeland, but became outraged by occupation of another country

Mamuka Mdinaradze, Georgia’s Vice Prime Minister and State Minister for Regional Policy Issues, said on Tuesday that certain people had not been angered by the occupation of their own homeland or the killing of their own people, but had instead become outraged by the occupation of another country and attacks against its people.
“We are talking about people who were not outraged by the occupation of their own homeland and the killing of their own people, yet became outraged by the occupation of someone else’s homeland and an attack on another country”, he said.
“The fact that this is so artificial and clearly part of an orchestrated campaign is evident from the following: if an enemy invaded someone’s own family and they did not react with anger, but then expressed outrage when the same enemy invaded someone else’s family, they would be in exactly the same situation”, Mdinaradze continued.
He added that the only reason these people might deserve sympathy is that they are acting on instructions, having been told to express outrage now despite not having shown the same reaction in the past. According to him, that is the only difference.
“Why did they travel to Russia after the 2008 war, and why did they become angry only after Russia invaded Ukraine? There is only one answer to this: they were carrying out an assignment”, the Vice PM said.
“In this case, you mentioned Nikoloz Rachveli and other representatives of the arts. I am sure that the majority of them do not even know that they are followers of people who carry out assignments. I am far from believing that everyone is an agent or that everyone has signed something somewhere, but all of this is the result of agent activities. We have agents in politics, and their followers are people who do not even know why they are doing this. After the occupation of their own homeland, they sang for the occupiers, and today they are angry with and hate Russia. They did not hate it then”, he concluded.
