Georgia’s ruling party Sec Gen says all foreign ambassadors must respect country's statehood, constitution

Kakha Kaladze, the Mayor of Tbilisi and Secretary General of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Friday criticised Peter Fischer, the German Ambassador to the country, by saying that instead of diplomatic activities Fischer promoted attempts to divide the public.
Kaladze responded to the inquiry launched by the Alternative for Germany party into the controversial activities of the German Ambassador to Georgia.
In his remarks, Kaladze noted that it was the duty of all ambassadors to Georgia to respect the country’s institutions and adhere to the rules defined by protocol.
“As for Peter Fischer's activities, we see that he does everything except diplomatic service. He is a member of a violent group and promotes confrontation, attempts to divide the public, and encourages extremist organisations. It is good that questions were raised about him in Germany as well”, the Secretary General said.
“The main thing for us is that representatives of all countries in relation to Georgia, those in various missions, in this case ambassadors, respect Georgia's independence and constitution. We do not ask for anything special, they should fulfill what is written in the protocol”, he concluded.
