Georgian FM: EU Ambassador will be summoned to foreign office

Georgian foreign minister Maka Botchorishvili on Friday responded to the media regarding a statement made by the EU ambassador to Georgia Paweł Herczyński.
Botchorishvili stated that Herczyński would be summoned to the foreign office
“We will once again voice the position that has been expressed by politicians in Tbilisi and which is concerning to us. The current attitude of the EU bureaucracy toward Georgia is concerning. It is truly worrying to ignore the interests and choice of the Georgian people, especially when the interests of the Georgian people are so frequently used for speculation. Even now, we hear such speculations from Brussels. Of course, we will have a conversation”, the minister said.
When asked whether the foreign ministry would summon the ambassador, Botchorishvili replied: “Yes, of course. We will have the opportunity to see Paweł Herczyński at the ministry of foreign affairs and discuss the very issues that have justly caused outrage within the Georgian political community”.
Earlier Herczyński stated: “We must not allow Georgia and the wonderful, warm, hospitable Georgian people to return to the dark times of violence, civil war, poverty, hardship, and corruption”.
