Georgia’s vice prime minister and minister of foreign affairs Maka Botchorishvili on Friday said it was impossible to ignore Georgia’s role in the Middle Corridor, emphasising the country’s strategic importance in regional transit projects.
Speaking to journalists, Botchorishvili stated that Georgia is making a significant contribution to the development of the Middle Corridor and that this factor underlines the country’s growing relevance in the region.
“Georgia has made an important contribution to the development of the Middle Corridor. Therefore, when it comes to implementing any transit project in the region, it is impossible to bypass Georgia”, she said.
“This is the reality, and there is nothing surprising in the fact that discussions about the Middle Corridor do not take place without Georgia”, Botchorishvili concluded.
