Ministry of Agriculture: EU evaluators' mission praises Georgia's progress in agricultural sector

The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia on Saturday said that the European Union evaluators' mission had positively assessed the progress made in Georgia's agricultural sector.

The Ministry reported that the EU evaluators' mission praised the progress made in fulfilling the commitments under the 2023 phase of European Neighborhood Program for Agriculture and Rural Development.

First Deputy Minister Nino Tandilashvili met with the evaluators to discuss these achievements.

“Representatives of the European Union monitored the implementation of the commitments undertaken for the year 2023 of the fourth phase of the European Neighborhood Program for Agriculture and Rural Development (ENPARD), which includes the components of food safety and rural development. The mission of evaluators positively evaluated the dynamics of fulfilling the obligations undertaken by Georgia and reviewed the progress and results achieved in the agricultural sector of Georgia in a positive light”, the Ministry said.

The evaluators also provided important recommendations for further development in agriculture and rural areas, which would help Georgia on its path to EU membership.

Tandilashvili expressed her gratitude for the positive assessment and reaffirmed Georgia's commitment to ongoing cooperation with the EU.
