Georgia triumphs over Spain to win Rugby Europe Championship for 17th time

The Georgian national rugby team on Sunday claimed their 17th Rugby Europe Championship title after defeating Spain 46-28 in the final held at Mikheil Meskhi Stadium in Tbilisi.

This victory marks Georgia's eighth consecutive championship win and the first time the tournament final has been hosted in the Georgian capital.

The match was attended by Georgia’s Minister of Sports Shalva Gogoladze and Rugby Europe President Janhein Pieterse.

The Lelos' path to the final included a decisive victory over Romania in the semi-final, where they also secured the Antim Cup for the 19th time.

Throughout the tournament, the Georgian team displayed dominant form, winning all their matches, including a record-breaking 110-0 victory over Switzerland.
