Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze together with Tea Tsulukiani, the Georgian Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Culture, on Friday inspected the ongoing construction and rehabilitation works at the historic estate of Leuville in France.
The Minister provided the Head of Government with detailed information about the ongoing works, the Government Administration said.
Currently, the rehabilitation of the Leuville estate chateau is in progress, with the entire roof replaced. The first floor of the chateau will house a museum dedicated to the history of the First Republic and France-Georgia relations, while the second floor will feature eight residential spaces.
The rehabilitation of the guardhouse and the arrangement of art residences have already been completed on the estate; the authentic appearance of the 4-hectare area wall has been restored.
As the Head of Government of Georgia noted, the works currently underway in Leuville aim to preserve the heritage for future generations.
“The Leuville estate is a part of our history, an invaluable heritage. Of course, the rehabilitation of the estate is very important. The rehabilitation works will be completed by the end of 2026. We must preserve this invaluable heritage for future generations and the ongoing works are dedicated to this goal”, Kobakhidze said.
By September 2026, the estate will feature the Georgian Academy of Leuville, museum and archive spaces, a library, a conference hall, a media library and a Georgian corner. With the support of the Government of Georgia, the historic Leuville estate will be fully restored and transformed into a cultural and educational hub.
Together with the Deputy Prime Minister and the Mayor of Leuville, the Prime Minister of Georgia paid tribute to the memory of Noe Jordania, Chairman of Government of the First Democratic Republic of Georgia.
