Georgian Parliament official alleges misinformation and fact distortion in Polish public broadcaster’s Georgian-language service

Giorgi Chakvetadze, the first deputy chair of the education, science and youth affairs committee of the Georgian Parliament, on Thursday said that the aim of recent messages aired by the Georgian-language service of Poland’s public broadcaster was to spread misinformation about Georgia, distort facts, and shape negative perceptions.
In his remarks, Chakvetadze noted that the effort appears to be coordinated by various external actors and is intended to influence both public opinion and political processes in the country.
“This is a decision involving different foreign actors, aimed at forming certain views about Georgia both in Poland and within Georgia itself. There are no doubts about this. The purpose is to create false information and perceptions about Georgia, to distort facts, and also to influence political processes in the country”, he said.
