Uzbek Investment Minister praises Georgia’s port infrastructure, discusses logistics hub plans

Laziz Kudratov, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade, on Saturday praised Georgia's expanding port infrastructure following a visit to the Anaklia Deep Sea Port construction site and Poti’s port facilities, revealing that the two countries were discussing the establishment of an Uzbek logistics and production hub in Georgia.

In his remarks, Kudratov noted that the visit highlighted Georgia’s growing strategic importance in international transport and logistics.

“We inspected the facilities and were impressed by the infrastructure, as well as the works underway to expand and strengthen Georgia's strategic role in global logistics”, Kudratov said.

The Minister also revealed that discussions had taken place on establishing an Uzbek logistics and production hub at one of Georgia's ports.

“We are closely cooperating with the government, the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, and the port operators in order to develop a specific and solid plan. We are grateful to the Georgian government for its support and for expanding bilateral economic partnership”, he concluded.
