Georgian Economy Minister, Singapore’s Transport Minister discuss economic cooperation

As part of the Georgian Prime Minister’s visit to Singapore, Georgian Economy Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili on Wednesday met with Jeffrey Siow, Singapore’s acting Minister for Transport and Minister of State for Finance, to discuss expanding bilateral economic cooperation, with a focus on transport, logistics, civil aviation, maritime connectivity, information technologies, and tourism.
In a meeting, Kvrivishvili provided a detailed overview of Georgia’s development as a regional transport and logistics hub and highlighted the state’s investments in strategic infrastructure projects, including ports, railways, highways, airports, and other facilities.
The discussion further focused on expanding cooperation within the framework of the Middle Corridor.
Speaking about the planned infrastructure projects, the Minister underscored the strategic importance of the construction of the new Tbilisi International Airport and the Anaklia Deep Sea Port.
The parties paid particular attention to strengthening partnership in the maritime logistics sector. It was noted that, as part of the Middle Corridor development process, Georgia is actively advancing the digital transformation of its maritime sector.
The meeting further highlighted the importance of enhancing cooperation in the field of civil aviation.
