With the support of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development’s agency Enterprise Georgia, Georgian companies are set to join Alibaba.com - one of the world’s leading B2B e-commerce platform
According to the Ministry, in the first stage, up to 50 Georgian companies will be registered on the platform. The agency will fully cover the annual membership fee, along with costs related to product promotion and placement on Alibaba.com.
Participating companies will receive the Global Gold Supplier status - a form of verification that increases buyer trust and helps potential partners make informed purchasing decisions.
“Being featured on Alibaba.com will give Georgian companies a unique opportunity to access the global market, attract international partners, and boost exports”, the Ministry noted.
The selection process for the platform takes place in two stages. Initially, Enterprise Georgia identified top-ranked companies based on years of performance on its electronic platform, tradewithgeorgia.com.
In the second stage, the selected businesses will undergo additional verification by the Alibaba.com team. After the process is completed, the agency will provide training to the companies, followed by their official placement on the platform.
In the near future, an Alibaba.com delegation is expected to visit Georgia to explore local products.
Founded in 1999, Alibaba.com is a leading global B2B e-commerce platform, serving buyers and suppliers in over 200 countries and regions.
The platform covers multiple sectors, helping businesses expand to international markets and enabling buyers to discover products, connect with suppliers, and place orders quickly and efficiently.
