Georgian PM pledges country will become member of EU by 2030

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Wednesday said the injustice we hear so often from EU politicians and officials, the rejection of Christian dogmas, LGBT-propaganda, non-transparency and disrespecting others' sovereignty was not suitable for Europe.

In his speech at a final campaign meeting of the ruling Georgian Dream party in the capital city of Tbilisi, Kobakhidze noted that the country would become a member of the European Union by 2030 only with dignity, respect for Christianity, the Church and morality, with independence and sovereignty.

“The injustice, which we hear so often from European Union politicians and officials, the rejection of Christian dogmas, LGBT propaganda, lack of transparency and disrespect for others' sovereignty is not suitable for Europe”, Kobakhidze said.

“Only with dignity towards Europe - this is the policy that Mr. Bidzina Ivanishvili [the founder and Honorary Chair of the ruling Georgian Dream party] established, and for this I would like to thank him once again. We will walk only in peace to Europe. Without peace there is neither development nor European integration. During the past four years, we withstood the heaviest pressure and blackmail and despite the greatest risks, we maintained the peace in Georgia. Our Government is the first Government after the restoration of [the country’s] independence, during which the country did not have a war. We have maintained 12 years of uninterrupted peace in Georgia, and even now, it is the [ruling] Georgian Dream [party] that is the only guarantee that the country will continue its peaceful and stable development in all directions”, he concluded.
