Georgian Parliament official: Georgia remains firmly on its European path

Georgia remains firmly on its European path and, by a number of standards, is ahead of some European countries, said on Friday Gia Volski, an MP from the ruling Georgian Dream party and the First Vice Speaker of the Parliament.
Speaking to journalists, Volski stressed that Georgia had not deviated from its course towards European integration.
“Many issues that were previously hidden or controversial have now become clearer. Where does Georgia stand? Georgia is on the European path and, by all standards, is ahead of some European countries, not only candidate states”, the official said.
He reiterated that the country remains committed to its European aspirations and foreign policy priorities.
“We have not deviated from this path, and this aspect of foreign policy is one of the important issues the Prime Minister will address today”, Volski concluded.
Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze is set to present his annual report to Parliament later today.
