Georgian PM claims opposition United National Movement party seeking to arrange provocations ahead of elections

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Friday claimed that the opposition United National Movement party was seeking to arrange provocations in the country ahead of the parliamentary elections scheduled for October 26.
In his remarks, Kobakhidze urged the public to remain “very vigilant”.
The Prime Minister emphasised that his Government would take “all necessary measures” to prevent the United National Movement from being able to stage provocations.
“They are actively talking about provocations within the United National Movement [party]. I held a briefing regarding this matter. I call on the public to be very vigilant and cautious, and no one should allow such provocations to take place. The Government will take all measures to ensure that we do not give the collective United National Movement the opportunity to instigate provocations”, Kobakhidze concluded.
