Romanian Foreign Minister: strategic partnership with Georgia continues, backing its European future

Romania was the first European Union country to sign a strategic partnership document with Georgia, and we continue to uphold this partnership because we believe in Georgia’s European future, said on Monday Romanian Foreign Minister Oana Țoiu ahead of the EU foreign ministers’ meeting.

In her remarks, Țoiu noted that it was now the citizens of Georgia who were actively fighting for the country’s European future, contributing more to the process than the institutions and central government.

“This demonstrates the resilience of Georgian society. We must continue dialogue and invest in Georgia’s European path. Why is this important for Romania? Because cooperation and solidarity matter, especially when we look at the Black Sea, and we are therefore concerned about the ongoing developments in Georgia”, the Minister said.
