Georgia PM voices solidarity with Ukraine, calls for stronger bilateral relations

Georgian prime minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Tuesday said that his government was ready to do everything possible to restore relations with Ukraine to the maximum extent, and for all of this to be reflected in the relations between the governments.
Speaking to journalists, Kobakhidze acknowledged that challenges have accumulated over time but emphasised the long-standing history of friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
“We are ready to do everything possible to restore relations with Ukraine to the maximum extent, and for all of this to be reflected in the relations between the governments. Every reasonable step can be taken on our part. Naturally, we support the Ukrainian people, who are currently in an extremely difficult situation, in a state of war, facing the most difficult economic and social conditions”, he said.
“We support the Ukrainian people in every way possible; naturally, we express our solidarity with Ukraine and the Ukrainian people. Consequently, we are interested in every way to have friendly relations between the countries as well as between the governments. Let’s wait for the development of events. There is full readiness on our part; as for the rest, we shall see”, Kobakhidze concluded.
