Mark Rutte says maintaining Georgia-NATO ties “valuable”

When we talk about the relationship between Georgia and NATO, we believe that maintaining this relationship is valuable, said on Thursday NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
According to him, there are currently certain concerns regarding democracy and the rule of law in Georgia, and dialogue and discussion are important.
“It is necessary to ensure that Georgia remains on the trajectory of democracy and the rule of law. Obviously, there are grounds for concern in this regard at the moment, but dialogue and discussion are necessary. Our position is that it is better to maintain the relationship and have the opportunity to discuss these issues, rather than saying we dislike something and completely severing the relationship because of it”, Rutte noted.
