Georgian Parliament Vice Speaker: Georgia seeks closer relations with China

Georgia, too, as China's strategic partner and a key country in the Middle Corridor, strives to have close, intensive relations with China, said on Monday Giorgi Volski, the vice speaker of the Georgian Parliament.
In his remarks, Volski stressed that relations with China are a matter of interest for the entire world.
“Relations with China hold extraordinary strategic importance, and this is not solely within the scope of Georgia's interests - the whole world is gravitating toward China. As soon as peace processes develop and the difficult situation currently facing the world transitions into a negotiation process, China will be one of the centers for stabilising economic and political relations. Georgia, too, as China's strategic partner and a key country in the Middle Corridor, strives to have close, intensive relations with China”, the official said.
For the first time in the last 20 years, the Chair of the Parliament of Georgia has departed for an official visit to China, following an invitation from the Chair of the National People's Congress of China.
