Mamuka Mdinaradze, the Georgian vice prime minister and state minister for coordination of law enforcement agencies, on Monday said that state institutions are fully prepared to maintain order and prevent any attempts at destabilisation during the upcoming May 26 opposition rally.

Addressing concerns over potential unrest, Mdinaradze emphasised that authorities possess comprehensive data ensuring that any disruptive plans will fail.

He drew a sharp comparison to previous challenges, specifically citing events on October 4, which he described as a far more serious threat to national security.

“They will not be able to carry out anything similar on May 26. I can tell you with full responsibility, I have this information, that they will not be able to do anything. On October 4, we faced a far more serious situation, and at that time state institutions managed to prevent a great disaster. Back then, we were able to end everything quickly on the same day, detain those who were the main organisers of the attempted coup, as well as neutralise in advance those who were actively involved or potentially could have been involved”, he said.

Mdinaradze also claimed that similar developments would not be possible on May 26, emphasising that state institutions are fully prepared to respond to any threats.
