Georgian Parliament official: we hope common sense prevails and attacks on Georgia in PACE will stop

Gia Volski, an MP from the ruling Georgian Dream party and the First Vice Speaker of the Parliament, on Wednesday expressed hope that what he called “intense attacks” against Georgia within the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) will eventually stop, saying he expects “sensible thinking” to prevail.
“We should recall the statement made in the European bodies that the South Caucasus is a particularly important region where the European Union intends to expand cooperation. Such a thought and plan are absolutely groundless if they do not have normal relations with Georgia”, Volski said.
“Or another suspicion arises, which also has grounds, that they intend to cooperate with Georgia if their chosen puppet Government comes to power. The Georgian delegation left the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe precisely because of this injustice, and we hope that common sense will prevail and, ultimately, such an intense attack on Georgia by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe will stop”, he concluded.
