Georgia's ruling party Sec Gen pushes back against Zelenskyy’s criticism of Georgia at UN

Kakha Kaladze, the Mayor of Tbilisi and Secretary General of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Thursday commented on the Ukrainian President’s address at the United Nations, in which Zelenskyy alleged that “we have already lost Georgia in Europe. Human rights and the European nature of the state system are only shrinking there”.
“It would be better for him to first take care of his own country and think about his own people”, Kaladze stated.
He expressed sympathy for Ukraine’s difficult circumstances but stressed that Georgians would focus on their own national interests.
“I would not wish on anyone, not even an enemy, the situation they are currently facing. The Ukrainian people will take care of their president and government themselves. We, the Georgian people, will somehow take care of our own country”, Kaladze concluded.
