Georgian FM: Georgia does not deserve criticism it receives, this attitude unjustified

Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili on Wednesday said that the country did not deserve the frequent criticism and negative attitudes directed toward it in recent years, emphasising that Georgia continues steadfastly on the path of development and stability.

In her remarks, Botchorishvili addressed what she described as unfair criticism toward Georgia from some international partners.

“Facts speak for themselves, and time always leads us to the truth. Our country truly does not deserve the criticism we often hear, nor the attitude we have unfortunately seen in recent years”, she said.

The Foreign Minister further noted that Georgia’s progress and achievements were evident, and that over time, the facts would confirm the country’s consistent dedication to its chosen path.

“Despite this, we continue faithfully on the path that serves the development, stable future, and security of our country. I am deeply convinced that this also contributes to common European security. Ultimately, it is in the shared European interest for this country - in this region - to be developed, peaceful, and stable, and thereby contribute to the common European future”, she concluded.
