Georgian President denounces attempted attack in US capital

Georgian president Mikheil Kavelashvili on Sunday condemned the attempted attack that occurred last night in Washington, D.C.

President Kavelashvili described the incident as “categorically unacceptable”, emphasising that such violence poses a direct threat to the “democratic order and public stability”.

“The attempted attack in Washington is categorically unacceptable, and I condemn it. Such acts of violence threaten not only specific individuals but also state institutions, the democratic order, and public stability. It is of utmost importance that the President, the First Lady, and all those present at the event are safe”, Kavelashvili said in a social media message.
