Georgian FM says only Brussels responsible for stopping dialogue with Georgia in European integration process

Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili on Sunday said only Brussels was responsible for stopping dialogue with Georgia in the European integration process as nothing had been stopped from the Georgian side.

“Nothing has been suspended from Georgia, nothing has been stopped from our side. The only one responsible for stopping the dialogue with Georgia is Brussels. Based on the conclusions or decisions made by Brussels, relations with Georgia are slowing down and cooling down. This is very sad for us, but in this context, when we see an unfair attitude towards Georgia, it is difficult to imagine how this situation can be corrected” the FM said.

In her interview with Imedi TV, Botchorishvili also responded to the issue of sanctions against Russia as well as relations with Ukraine, noting that today there was all the evidence to loudly declare that Georgia was the most conscientious supporter of Ukraine in this situation.

“Georgia has been accused of a lot of things over the past 4 years. Today there is all the evidence to loudly declare that Georgia is the most conscientious supporter of Ukraine in this situation.Georgia is the most conscientious in responding to sanctions imposed by the European Union, even when the European Union itself has to deal with the problem of evading sanctions in its own member states”, she concluded.
