David Matikashvili, the Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Procedural Issues and Rules, on Thursday commented on the decision of the Romanian Chamber of Deputies regarding the unification of Romania and Moldova.

“Moldova’s attempt to sacrifice its sovereignty and lose its independence solely to become a member of the European Union more quickly cannot withstand any criticism. It means that Moldova’s current leadership, whether President Sandu or others, has no emotional connection to Moldova as their homeland”, Matikashvili said.

As reported, a legislative proposal concerning the unification of Romania and Moldova was automatically approved by the Romanian Chamber of Deputies and will now be forwarded to the Senate for consideration.
