Imedi TV reported on Tuesday that opposition leaders Nika Gvaramia and Zurab Japaridze held a private meeting with Norway’s Ambassador to Georgia. The meeting was reportedly initiated by the diplomat.
Gvaramia confirmed to the TV channel that the meeting had taken place at the initiative of the Norwegian Ambassador.
“He is a new Ambassador and is meeting with various political parties, including opposition parties. The first meeting was with us. We exchanged views on what is happening in the country and what we believe our European perspective looks like. Should I tell you what his position was and what I told him? It was a closed-door meeting”, Gvaramia said.
Following the meeting, Japaridze again declined to comment, instead calling for a live broadcast.
