Georgian parliamentary officials are set to engage in a series of high-level meetings with speakers and parliamentary officials from countries across Asia, Africa, Latin America, and Europe on the sidelines of the ongoing world parliamentary conference in Geneva.

Nikoloz Samkharadze, the Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Georgian Parliament, noted that the discussions would cover a wide range of topics, including pressing security challenges in the Black Sea region.

The official noted that the Georgian side would also raise the situation in the Russian-occupied regions.

“We are meeting with speakers and parliamentary chairs from Asia, Africa, Latin America, as well as European countries. Discussions will cover various topics, including security challenges in the Black Sea region”, he said.

Regarding discussions with European counterparts, Samkharadze noted that the focus would shift to Georgia's internal political situation, the upcoming municipal elections, and the country's integration into the European Union.

“We want our partners to know exactly from the primary source what is happening in Georgia, why this process has been stalled, and we will also provide them with information regarding the laws”, the official concluded.
