Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili on Sunday honoured police officers for their dedication and courage during a ceremony marking Police Day, emphasising their commitment to protecting citizens, even at the risk of their own lives.
Addressing the audience at the official event, the President praised law enforcement officers for their service and sacrifice, noting that they have repeatedly demonstrated their readiness to defend and save others while carrying out their professional duties.
“You have repeatedly proven that, in the line of duty, you are prepared to protect and save the lives of others, even at the risk of your own”, Kavelashvili said.
The President also honoured the memory of police officers who lost their lives while performing their duties, stressing that their sacrifice would never be forgotten.
“At this solemn moment, with the utmost respect and reverence, I bow before the bright memory of those heroic police officers who gave the most precious thing - their own lives - in the performance of their professional duties. Their memory will live on forever in our hearts, and Georgia will never forget their names”, he stated.
Kavelashvili thanked police officers across the country for their invaluable contribution to strengthening public safety and maintaining law and order.
“I thank each of you for the invaluable contribution you make to enhancing Georgia’s security and public order. Once again, I congratulate you on Police Day”, the President added.
The ceremony brought together government officials, law enforcement representatives, and guests to recognize the service and achievements of Georgia’s police force.
